Thank you for considering me to capture your Senior portraits!
Allow me to share a little about myself... I've been studying photography for over 20 years. I'm a mother of two (one in HS and one in College!) myself and this age group is my favorite to photograph! I love capturing images that showcase their individual personality, talents and interests.
If you choose me as your photographer, you can expect the following:
- Prior to your shoot, we'll discuss locations that best reflect your personality and interests. My favorite places to shoot are Ann Arbor and Downtown Detroit, but I'm always on the lookout for new locations and spots that will suit YOUR vision.
- I aim to deliver images that are unique to you, yet will stand the test of time. Your images and locations will not be cookie cutter and look the same as my other Seniors. Some may choose the same locations, but I do not take all of my clients to the same location by default.
- All packages are all-inclusive and include basic editing/retouching and high-res digital images for you to download, print, share... whatever you like! I do NOT charge a session fee and then require an additional minimum purchase of print products as many others do. No pressure of in-person reveals and ordering. You are able to order prints directly through me from a professional lab as well as other products such as canvases, albums, banners, etc... all at an affordable cost. You can also print on your own if you wish and I'm happy to recommend a consumer lab to you.
- I don't photograph 60+ seniors each year - far from that. My Senior circle is small for two reasons - one, I have a regular full-time job and shoot evenings and weekends based on availability; and two, in order to provide the level of service and quality of images that I do, I'm unable to accommodate everyone who inquires. Booking early will ensure your spot on my busy calendar.
- Whether your vision is something quick and simple - just an outfit or two in one location - or whether you want the ultimate experience, I have options to suit everyone and payment plans are available to help lighten the load.
Should you have any additional questions after reading through this, please feel free to reach out to me!
What if it rains the day of my session?
No worries, when you secure your spot, we will choose a backup "weather day". Additionally, I will have other days blocked on my schedule should you have rain on your backup day as well.
When is payment due?
There is a $100 non-refundable retainer fee required to secure your date(s). This is applied to your total due. The remainder is due the day of your session. If you have multiple sessions, it is due the day of your first session. Payment plans are available, however images will not be delivered and editing will not begin until the package has been paid in full.
How will I change outfits if we're outdoors?
Depending on the location, you can either use a public restroom (if available), or I will have a portable changing tent with me for you to use.
Do you offer professional hair and makeup services with any of your packages?
Some photographers include this for the gals. At this time I do not include it, however I do know local hair and makeup artists who specialize in Seniors and am happy to refer you to them and work with them to coordinate dates for your session. In fact, I highly recommend the gals use a professional hair and makeup artist to look and feel their absolute best - it WILL show in your photos - you will not regret it!
When will my images be ready?
It depends on the season. During busier times, 6-8 weeks. Otherwise, I typically turn around in 2-3 weeks, sometimes sooner. Cap and gown sessions are turned around within 1-2 weeks. September through November is my busiest season, turnaround times will be at minimum 6-12 weeks during these months.
What is included in editing and retouching?
Standard retouching is included for all portraits - blemish removal, skin smoothing, eye enhancement and teeth whitening. Standard editing is included as well - removal of distracting objects (when possible), sky replacement, straightening, cropping. Any extensive editing beyond this will incur an additional fee - I DO retouch quite a bit, but I will not spend an excessive amount of time correcting things in all of your images that could have been fixed prior to your shoot. This includes, but is not limited to, poor choices/application of hair/makeup, wrinkled clothing, pet hair on clothing etc.
What happens if your camera breaks during the shoot?
No need to panic... I carry a professional grade backup camera body, multiple high-end lenses, additional strobe light, memory cards... you name it! In other words, you do not need to worry about equipment failure as I will always have a backup of everything with me and be back up and running within a matter of minutes :) Whoever you choose as your photographer, make sure they carry a backup of everything. Nothing worse than paying for a professional hair and makeup artist and/or paying a fee to shoot at a location (some locations do require this and it is the responsibility of the client) and having to reschedule because there was an equipment malfunction and no Plan B.
Can I print my images on my own?
All packages include print release for the number of final images included in your package. That said, I recommend and will only guarantee images printed through the professional lab I personally use. I also extend special pricing to anyone who purchases a package from me, so you are able to get beautiful prints from a pro lab at a very affordable cost.
What if I like your work, but the packages you offer aren't what I'm looking for?
Please feel free to contact me and let me know what you were looking for, and if it's something I'm able to accommodate I'm happy to provide you with a custom quote!
Do you offer any discounts?
I currently offer a 10% cash pay discount! Other discounts may be offered periodically.
Who should I bring with me the day of my session?
The short and easy answer is - whoever YOU want! Anyone who makes you comfortable and who you can be yourself around and makes you feel good about yourself is a great choice! Whether that's mom, sister, dad, brother, grandma, aunt, cousin, a friend or two... totally up to you. It's really all about what will make you feel best that day. The catch - only you will be photographed, and if you are under 18 you must have a parent/guardian with you :)
Can I share a package with a friend?
All of my senior sessions are priced for one individual, session time sharing is not permitted.
I play sports and want to incorporate that into my senior pictures - is it possible?
YES! Everyone who knows me, knows my favorite images to capture, are sports. If you play multiple sports, I recommend the add-on sessions so we can shoot those images during the corresponding sport season. We can mix up and do some in uniform, and some out of uniform. Did I mention I love photographing sports and athletic images?
I'd like to have images taken at or in my school, is this possible?
Of course, this is something we can do. The caveat is, if we need access (i.e. football field, inside school, inside gymnasium, inside locker room, you get the idea) it is the responsibility of the client to obtain the necessary access/permission prior to the shoot.
Are you willing to travel?
If my schedule permits, yes! Additional travel fee does apply.
Why should I choose you as my Senior Photographer?
There are SO MANY amazing Photographers in the area... it's a tough choice to make. Ultimately, you should choose someone whose photographic style you most prefer, and who makes you feel comfortable, but also has packages that suit your needs. Being a mother myself, I have strived to offer packages for various budgets and needs, while remaining competitive and also being fair to myself and the quality of images I deliver. It's really just about what you (and your parents) want.
How many outfits am I allowed to bring?
The short answer, it depends on which package you select. Your primary limitation is time. Shorter sessions don't allow time for multiple outfit changes and my packages reflect that. Keep this in mind when selecting the package that would best suit you!
Does travel time count towards my shooting time?
No, it does not. I've recently updated my packages to be based on two things - shooting time and number of locations. Shooting time at each location begins when I start shooting and ends when we return to our vehicles. Any outfit changes on location are counted in your shooting time. Travel time between two locations does not count as shooting time. For example, you choose a package with two locations and choose your High School and Downtown. Your time will be split between the two locations as you choose, but travel time from one to another does not count towards shooting time. If you get a 90 minute package and choose to use 30 minutes at one location and 60 minutes at another, that is how much time you'll have at each location for shooting and outfit changes.

TESTIMONIAL 3
Michelle - I just wanted to thank you for taking my senior pictures. Taking pictures is hard for me as my body adjusts but you made me feel so pretty and I can't thank you enough! I also wanted to thank you for going above and beyond; from the extra picture taking time to the photo box I really appreciate all that you've done for me.
TESTIMONIAL 4
My sister ordered a yard sign for her graduating Daughter. I was amazed by it and she gave me the info. I would like to order one for my son when the time comes. Right now he is graduating Middle school. But I see the amazing job in the one my sister ordered for her daughter.
